Overview
StrainFree is a Mac display comfort app created by Lumany LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use the app, visit the website, contact support, or purchase a license.
App data
The app may store local preferences on your Mac, such as comfort profiles, display tuning values, break reminder settings, saved profile names, onboarding choices, and app settings. This information is used to make the app work and is not intentionally uploaded by StrainFree.
Blink detection and camera use
Blink detection is optional. When enabled, StrainFree uses your Mac's camera permission to estimate blink rhythm and presence on-device. Camera frames are not saved by StrainFree and are not uploaded to Lumany LLC.
Payments
Purchases are processed by Paddle. Paddle may collect payment details, billing information, tax information, and transaction records as needed to process your purchase, provide receipts, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. StrainFree does not receive or store your full payment card number.
License delivery
After a completed purchase, StrainFree uses Paddle transaction details, including transaction ID, customer ID, purchase date, and buyer email address, to generate and deliver a signed license key. Delivery may use GoHighLevel or Resend. A private fulfillment record is stored in Vercel Blob so delivery can be retried safely; it contains transaction and delivery status details and a one-way hash of the buyer email rather than the email itself.
License migration and recovery
Older app builds may securely exchange a legacy license for a signed license. The service checks the submitted key against completed Paddle purchases and returns a signed replacement only when a matching purchase is found. If you request license recovery, the transaction ID and purchase email are checked against Paddle, and a replacement is sent only to the email on the completed transaction.
Support communications
If you contact support, we may receive your email address, message contents, app version, macOS version, purchase information, and any screenshots or logs you choose to send. We use this information to respond to you and improve the app.
Updates
StrainFree may check for updates. Update checks can reveal basic technical information such as app version, macOS version, and network metadata normally associated with a web request.
Website
The StrainFree website is hosted by Vercel, which may process standard network and request metadata needed to serve and protect the site. StrainFree does not currently use behavioral analytics or advertising trackers. The signup form uses an IP-derived, one-way value temporarily in server memory for abuse prevention, but StrainFree does not add the IP address or browser details to the signup record.
Email signup
If you join the updates list or enter your email before downloading StrainFree, we collect your email address, signup source, and timestamp so we can confirm your signup, support your trial, send important product updates, and help match your purchase or license record if needed. These records may be processed through Vercel Blob, Resend, or GoHighLevel. You can contact us to be removed from non-transactional updates.
Security and retention
StrainFree uses access controls, signed license keys, request limits, and private storage intended to protect purchase and signup records. Records are retained only as reasonably needed to provide licenses, support purchases, prevent abuse, meet legal obligations, and operate the product.
Your choices
You can disable optional blink detection, break reminders, and comfort controls in the app. You can also contact us to request help with purchase records, support records, or privacy questions.
